How Pallet Network Deliveries Work

Like most paving stone suppliers in the UK, we use a third-party pallet delivery network to fulfil customer orders. Once a delivery booking has been entered into the pallet network system and the goods are collected from the warehouse, the transport process is handled entirely by the delivery company.

At that stage, the delivery route, depot scheduling and final delivery timing are managed by the pallet network itself. The process is similar to sending a letter through Royal Mail — once the item has been dispatched into the postal system, the exact delivery timing is controlled by the carrier rather than the sender.

Please note that any delivery date or time displayed within the pallet network system is an estimate only. The delivery company does not provide us with fixed or guaranteed delivery commitments.

Due to varying workloads across different depots and transport routes, delivery times can fluctuate. In some cases deliveries may arrive sooner, while in others they may take longer. Based on our past experience across the paving industry, most deliveries typically arrive within 3 to 5 working days, although occasionally this timeframe may be exceeded.

Generally speaking, areas within our standard delivery zone (where no surcharge applies) tend to receive quicker deliveries. Locations that fall into surcharge zones are often served by longer transport routes and may therefore experience slightly longer delivery times.

Seasonal demand also affects delivery performance. During the peak paving season (approximately March to September), pallet networks operate at very high volumes and delivery times may be longer. During the off-season (typically October to February), deliveries are often faster, weather conditions permitting.

Important Planning Advice

Based on long-standing experience within the paving industry, we strongly recommend that customers do not arrange builders, landscapers or installation work until the paving materials have been delivered in full.

As pallet network deliveries cannot provide guaranteed delivery dates, arranging installation work before delivery may result in unnecessary costs if delays occur.
